How to Change a Theme in WordPress
Want to find a look to your website that helps make you unique? Not to worry, WordPress has thousands of different theme options for you to choose from! While you can find several themes from 3rd party sites as well as wordpress.org, you can search through thousands fright from your site's dashboard! Let's get logged in and find out how!
Login to your site's WordPress Dashboard.
Locate the Appearance tab on the lefthand toolbar, and when the menu expands, select the Themes tab.
The Themes page will display a list of all the themes you currently have installed. You can select of of the pre-installed themes and activate it, or you can select the Add New button on the top, or bottom of the screen to search for a new theme to install.
When searching for a new theme, you can select through the Featured or Popular themes tabs to look at default themes being presented, or you can do a customized search by selecting the Feature Filter tab, where you can then search for themes with a particular color scheme, layout, or feature(s) and then select the Apply Filters button to display your results.
As you go through the different theme options, you can select interesting looking themes and then you can preview the theme to get a full screen view of the theme, along with exploring a few of the themes features. When you find one you wish to use, select the Install option to install it to your account.
Once you install the theme, you will need to activate the theme to have it be your current theme. Simply select the Activate link on the install page to apply your theme.
To check the theme once it is Activated, you can open a new tab in your browser and go to your site!
