How to Setup a Parked Domain
If you have several domains that are similar to your Primary domain, and you want them to all point to the same site, Parked Domains are the best option to consider. The main difference between a Parked domain and an Addon domain has all to do with file structure. Parked domains will always point towards the public_html directory, which is usually where your main website files will be. So if you have thetikisurfshop.com, thetikisurfshop.net, and thetikisurfshop.org you can have them all point towards the same site by assigning the .net and .org domains as parked! Addon domains are assigned to a sub-folder under the public_html folder, so the sites will be different.
Getting a Parked Domain setup is simple! Here is how:
Login to your cPanel account.
Scroll down the cPanel until you come to the 'Domains' section, and from there select the Parked Domains icon.
From here, locate the 'Create a New Parked Domain' section and include the domain you wish to park. Notice that you must have the domain registered before you can assign it as a parked domain. Once that is done, select the Add Domain button to have it listed as a parked domain.
Once assigned, you can manage your Parked Domains in the section below.
NOTE: If you want to use one of your parked domains to create a new website, you must first delete it from your Parked Domains list, then you will add it as Addon Domain.
