      How to Create a Redirect

Need to get one page of your site somewhere else?  Look no further than redirects!  Redirecting is the fast, easy tool to make sure your sites go exactly where you want them to go.

To setup a redirect from  your hosting account:

      1. Login to your cPanel account.

      2. Scroll down the cPanel until you come to the 'Domains' section, and from there select the 'Redirects' icon.

      1. From the Redirects menu, you will have several options to choose from when creating the redirect.

        1. First is the Redirect type: Permanent (301) or Temporary (302)

          1. A Permanent redirect will update a visitor's bookmarks and search engines, making sure no matter how they access the redirected site, it will work without issues.

        2. A Temporary redirect will not update a visitor's bookmarks or search engines, so they may need to clear their browser's cache in order to access the redirect if they've been to that page before.

      c. Following  the type, you will start be selecting which domain you need to redirect from the dropdown list containing all your domains hosted under your account.  Once that is done, if you need any subfolder redirected, you can enter that folder in the blank space provided to the right.

      d. Next, you will need to provide the url of the location you want people to be redirected to.  Be sure to start the url with http:// though, or the redirect will not work!

      e. Following that, be sure to select the option to have the redirect happen with or without www, to make sure that no matter how people access the page, it will redirect correctly.

      1. When the redirect is setup as you like, select the 'Add' button to complete the redirect.  As needed you can come back to this page and remove the redirect if you no longer need it.
