Router Setup – Quick Guide
Follow these steps to get your router online.
Connect the Hardware
Plug the power adapter into the router and an outlet.
Connect an Ethernet cable from the router’s WAN port to the ONT GE/LAN1 port.
Wait about 1–2 minutes for the router to power up.
Log In to the Router
Check for a mobile app: Many router manufacturers provide an iOS/Android app that can guide you through setup. Refer to your router’s guide or sticker for details.
If no app is available, connect your computer to the router (Ethernet cable or Wi-Fi).
Open a web browser and type the router’s IP address (often 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1).
Log in with the default username and password (printed on the router label).
Set Internet to DHCP
In the Internet / WAN settings, set the connection type to: DHCP
Sometimes this setting is called called “Automatic IP”
Save the setting.
Set DNS Servers
In the DNS settings, enter:
Primary DNS: 208.97.48.10
Secondary DNS: 208.97.49.10
Save changes.
Verify Connection
Try opening a website on your computer or phone connected to the wifi network (without a cellular connection enabled)
If it loads, your setup is complete!
Troubleshooting
If you can’t connect, restart the router: unplug power for 30 seconds, then plug back in.
If issues continue, factory reset: hold the reset button on the back for 10–15 seconds (this erases Wi-Fi name & password). Reenter the configuration from the steps above as needed
